SAMURAI… Standard lamp

Impressive. As impressive as were the bold samurai warriors of ancient Japan. This describes the presence of this unique standard lamp, designed by Robby Cantarutti for Vibia, measuring two metres in height by almost three metres in length. Impressive measurements for a standard lamp, making it the decorative focus of any room.

The Samurai is a bold proposal, not only because of its rounded forms but also because of the novelty of the concept. The designer’s challenge consisted of creating a lamp that could provide service for several different areas without the need to move the base; this is why it has an enormous arm that brings the light to where it is needed. A suspension system allows the gigantic arm to be moved with ease.

The Samurai lamp is manufactured in lacquered synthetic resin, a strong, state-of-the-art material that gives the lamp an avant-garde look in either of the two available colours (black or white). The lamp meets the highest energy-efficiency standards, with low-power 2 x G11 24W bulbs and a dimmer.
